Looking at my moodboard I can see many codes and conventions that are assosiated with Romantic Comedies.
Looking at the typefaces of the logos, they use pastle colours. This has connotations of the plain being very feminine, as the colours are pink and blue, which are soft colours and not harsh to look at. Take the logo from 'The Break-Up' for example. The logo is female orientated as it shows females to be stronger. The use of the colours pink and blue could show the two genders, and as the blue coloued "up" is at an angle, it should be interpreted as the man is the person who is effected most by the break up, becuase it is the pink writing that stays in its straight position. This shows to us that Romantic Comedies, such as 'The Break-Up' main target audience are women. It also shows the representation of men as being weaker than women. So this something else that we need to make sure comes across in our opening.
Most of the scenes that we see the decor of the room, using props and scenery create a modern design. This would show that the period of most romantic comedies is modern day. The interor and the modern style of the props and scenery would show to the audience that the women or men in the film have middle or high class lifestyles. Therefore it will be important to show how the men and women have quite moden life, also it shows how most of the men lead a metrosexual lifestyle, who seem to be concerned about the way then look, wear designer clothes, and lead a more cultural life style. This could be something that we can try and communitcate in the opening of our piece. This again shows that the film is more aimed towards a female audience as they would be more interested the lifestyle that is portrayed thoughout the films.
Through looking at some of the still I collected from different films, there seems to be a majority of two-shots. Which are normally used to show the intamancy of the two lead charcters in the film. This could
be used in our film in two ways, we could show the intamcy of the two leads through the use of two shots, however, if the film contained times when the lead chacater was with someone else who they were not close to we could show this by making sure they are never in the same shot togeather.

The represtation from thoughout the moodboard seems to show female chacaters a strong independant woman. Which means that they are represented very postivly, which is what makes Romantic Comedies different than any other genre, as it normally shows the woman to be stronger and more independant than the lead man in the film. This shows to us the films target audience would be female but also middle aged women as it shows, and idealic lifestyle that they can relate to. So, the idealolgy of the piece, because it is aimed at middle aged women, so therefore showing a strong indepentant women, is the ideal lifestyle for the middle aged women.
